The SUV market has become pretty crowded over the last couple of decades, so it takes a lot for any particular brand or model to be noticed. And yet, within this market, Kia SUVs have been repeatedly noticed and heralded for bold and smart designs, powerful engines, and great features that make them an absolute joy to drive. With quite a few different SUV models to choose from, you can look over what Kia has to offer and find the perfect vehicle for your needs.
While the Kia name is a relative newcomer here in the U.S., compared to brands like Chevy and Ford at least, they have been in business and growing for more than 75 years. Their modern success is due, in large part, to the incredible quality with which their vehicles are made and the industry-leading warranties that Kia offers on their products. The commitment that Kia has shown to making the best SUVs on the road has not gone unnoticed by American customers, and they continue to grow and become even more popular each year.
Whether you know exactly what vehicle you want, or you still have a lot of questions, we are here to help. At Raceway Kia, we have a terrific selection of brand new and used Kia SUVs for you to choose from, including high-quality Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles. Come visit us in Freehold, just off U.S. 9, and we will help you find the perfect vehicle for your needs.
What we currently know as Kia, started off in 1944 as Kyungsung Precision Industry in South Korea – a manufacturer of bicycle parts and steel tubing. They developed the first bicycle made in Korea and eventually grew into an automotive manufacturer, coming under ownership by Hyundai Motor Company. In 1992, the first Kia vehicles became available in the U.S., selling originally out of a few dealerships in Portland. Since then, Kia SUVs and vehicles have become increasingly popular due to the high level of quality and the standards that Kia insists upon for their vehicles. These are some of the most popular SUVs on the road today with other 8 million vehicles sold in the U.S. To continue this trend and show the dedication that Kia has to the American auto industry, Kia has invested more than $1 billion into a manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia.
One of the reasons Kia SUVs have become so popular over the last three decades is due to the high standard of quality that Kia requires of all their vehicles. Year after year, they win awards for initial quality, often placing as the #1 manufacturer for overall initial quality on their vehicles. Kia SUVs look gorgeous, come with fantastic features inside and out, are rated incredibly high in terms of safety, and they last a long time. In fact, Kia is so sure of the quality of their vehicles that they back them up with one of the best warranty programs in the entire auto industry. Every new Kia SUV sold comes with the Kia 10-year/100,000-mile warranty program, which is made of up four things:
10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty
5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty
5-year/100,000-mile limited anti-perforation warranty
5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance plan
With these four elements in place, you can drive a new Kia SUV with absolute peace of mind, knowing that you are in a top-quality vehicle backed by the people that made it. And with roadside assistance, you are covered no matter what happens – whether you end up with a flat tire, run out of gas, or leave work one evening to find your battery has died. Plus, if you deal with any warranty-related issues more than 150 miles from your home that will take more than 24 hours to fix, Kia will provide reimbursement on rental car expenses, meals, and even lodging.

Although we do not yet know everything we would like to about the 2021 Kia Seltos, what we do know has us incredibly excited for this bold new addition to the modern lineup of Kia SUVs. The Seltos is a subcompact model, so it is a great option if you are looking for something a little smaller. Despite its slim and sturdy size, you can still pack a surprising amount of power into the Seltos, and it will certainly not be left behind by other models out there.
Kia has stated that the Seltos is being aimed at customers that are tech-savvy and want the best features possible in their SUV. That is no surprise when you take a look at the impressive pieces of technology and the entertainment system available in the Kia Seltos. And yet, all of this power and impressive technology does not come at the sacrifice of cutting-edge safety features and driver-assist functionality. Instead, it all comes together to create an impressively powerful, elegant, and safe vehicle that is sure to meet your needs.
The name “Seltos” is derived from the name of Hercules, the hero of Greek mythology that was renowned for his strength, and so you would expect the Kia Seltos to offer great power and performance. You would be correct. The 2021 Kia Seltos has two engines available here in the US, so you can get just the level of power you need.
The standard engine on the Seltos is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that offers up to 146 hp, while there is also an available 1.6L 4-cylinder Turbocharged engine that gives you up to 175 hp. While those might not be huge numbers when you look at a sports car or heavy-duty truck, remember that this is a sporty, subcompact SUV. With that in mind, these engines offer more than enough power and make for a speedy and very joyful ride when you are behind the wheel.
While the standard engine comes with a continuously variable transmission, the more powerful turbocharged engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic. You can also get all-wheel drive with either of these engines, so if you are looking for something with an option for better traction, then the Seltos is a great pick. Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable Kia SUVs to drive, and it offers a much more responsive and exhilarating ride than a lot of its competitors.
We do not have all the details on what you will be able to get in the all-new 2021 Kia Seltos, but what we have seen so far in terms of technology and interior options certainly has us excited. If you have seen other Kia SUVs, then you know the kind of impressive technology and smart design that can be found in them. The Seltos is looking to be no exception to this – though keep in mind that with four different trim levels available, some of what you can get inside the Seltos will depend on which trim you choose.
Despite its small size, the Kia Seltos can be packed full of all sorts of impressive tech features and offers a luxurious and sophisticated interior. Ambient lighting inside the Seltos creates a refined and fun atmosphere from the moment you first open the door. You can even set the lighting to sync with your entertainment system, so the lights pulse with the beat of your music, creating a completely engrossing and entertaining driving experience.
While the standard Infotainment system in the Kia Seltos is great, the available 10-inch display takes it to another level and gives you a fantastic way to interact with your vehicle. The available Bose premium audio system comes with eight speakers to really envelop you with sound. If you start to imagine the rich audio of this system with the pulsing interior lighting, you can begin to picture just how unique and memorable driving the Seltos really is.
There are numerous USB ports for charging your devices, along with an available wireless charging pad. You can even get a 7-inch color display in the driver cluster and a heads-up display so that you can keep your eyes on the road while cruising in style. All of these great features and options come together to create something that is really unique and truly innovative.
As of yet, there are no safety ratings available on the Kia Seltos from either the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Once that information is available, however, we will be sure to provide it to all of our customers. In the meantime, we can see some of the standard and available safety features that come with the Kia Seltos and get a sense of just how safe it is as a vehicle overall.
An available safe exit assist feature warns you about oncoming traffic when you are about to open the door to get out. This makes it easier to avoid having an unseen vehicle take off your door or even slam into you or a passenger while exiting your vehicle. The available blind spot collision avoidance assist system can automatically apply brake pressure to the front wheel if you try to change lanes when an object is detected. This slows down your lane change and makes it easier for you to readjust and stay in your lane when you realize an object was in your blind spot.
Available forward collision-avoidance assist can help detect a potential collision and then automatically apply the brakes to help you slow down and avoid a collision. A highway driving assist feature can keep track of speed limits in your area and automatically adjust your cruising speed to adapt to changing speed limits. This system will also make adjustments to match the speed of vehicles detected in front of you, to help you more safely go with the flow of traffic in certain situations.
Although there are plenty of great SUVs out there with decent warranties on them, Kia SUVs have the best warranty in the industry. This will include the Kia Seltos once it is released, but all Kia SUVs enjoy this coverage. Just how good is it?
The Kia warranty includes a 10-year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, which is better than what you find from almost every single other manufacturer. In addition to this, you also get a 5-year or 60,000-mile limited basic warranty that covers most other parts of the vehicle. There is also a 5-year or 100,000-mile limited anti-perforation warranty that protects the exterior body panels from damage that occurs from the inside out. Finally, you also get 5 years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance with the Kia warranty coverage.
This means that for years and many thousands of miles after purchasing a Kia Seltos, you will get 24-hour assistance if anything happens. Whether you need help for a flat tire, a dead battery, or you simply run out of gas – they will be there to help. This gives you tremendous peace of mind with the all-new Kia Seltos, and it really is something you cannot find almost anywhere else.
We also have an exclusive and carefully chosen selection of Certified Pre-Owned Kia SUVs for you to consider here at Raceway Kia. Many of our customers come to us thinking that CPO vehicles are just like any other used model, when they are, in fact, quite different. In order for a vehicle to be certified by Kia as a CPO model, it cannot be more than four years old and cannot have more than 60,000 miles on it. Then, it has to pass a rigorous 164-point inspection by a certified Kia technician to ensure it is in the very best condition possible. All CPO Kia SUVs come with a free CARFAX vehicle history report, so you know as much as possible about their background. CPO Kia SUVs also come with two levels of warranty protection on them that you will not find on other used vehicles: 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty from original in-service date 1-year/12,000-mile comprehensive platinum coverage starting when you buy it This warranty coverage means you can drive easy with the kind of peace of mind that you usually only get with a brand new vehicle. Plus, with a CPO Kia SUV, you get a rental-car allowance for warrantable repairs, as well as travel-breakdown protection when you are 100 miles or more from home.
