5. Keep Your Gas Tank Full

It’s best to make sure that your gas tank is full if your Kia will be sitting out for a while. If your vehicle sits too long with a partly empty tank, it’s much more likely that condensation will form in the tank. This can decrease your engine’s performance.

4. Maintain Proper Tire Pressure

Tire pressure is important, whether you drive frequently or not. It’s also common for tire pressure to change as the weather changes. Make sure that your tires are filled to the right level; failing to do so may lead to damage.

3. Protect the Exterior

It’s not good for a vehicle to sit with dirt or grime on it for too long; this could damage the paint job. Make sure you wash, wax, and seal your Kia to keep it in good condition. If you’re parking outside, you may want to go further than this and invest in a car cover. This will help protect your Kia from dust, bird droppings, and more.

2. Drive Your Kia Regularly

It’s best to take your Kia for a drive at least once a week, even if you don’t have anywhere specific to go. Starting the engine and driving around can keep the moving parts lubricated, and it can even prevent rust from building up on your brake rotors. When you do go out, make sure that you drive for at least 15 or 20 minutes

. The battery in your vehicle will slowly drain as it sits, so giving it this much time means that the alternator will have time to fully recharge the battery.

1. Keep Up with Regular Maintenance

Driving less means that you can go more miles between service intervals, right? Well, while this is the case with some components, it’s not always true. Fluids like engine oil, brake fluid, and more can begin to degrade and break down even if they’re not being used as much. We recommend going by the time rather than the mileage.
