Why Buy the Kia Forte5?
The Kia Forte5 is a hatchback compact car with outstanding scores in reliability and a luxurious interior. What’s more, it’s surprisingly affordable, with a well below average price for its class. If you’re looking for a sporty small car, you may want to widen your search. But if you’re satisfied with an all-around good car that will unfailingly get you across town and back day in and day out, then look no further.
The interior is probably the nicest in the compact car class. It’s quiet and handsome with some very high-quality materials. It seats five and, unlike many of its rivals, no one will mind sitting in the back. All Fortes have plenty of cargo space for a compact, especially the Forte5 hatchback. You should also know that it’s safe, earning a perfect five stars in government crash test ratings, and techy, with the intuitive UVO infotainment system and options for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Which Kia Forte5 is the best?
Kia dropped the S trim on the Forte line this year, leaving just three trims: LX, EX, and SX. The difference between them mostly comes down to power. The LX base model and EX model come with a 164-horsepower four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Between the two, the EX is definitely better, with heated front seats, leather upholstery, a rearview camera, and UVO infotainment system with 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
If you want superior power, get the Forte5 SX. It boasts the same features as the SX, but switches out the engine for a 201-horsepower turbo-four engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Whatever you choose, you get a little car that’s good for getting around town. But the SX should make it plenty fun to drive as well.
Is the Kia Forte5 AWD?
All Kia Fortes are front-wheel drive, typical of a compact car, to make them lighter and more agile. If you want all-wheel drive, you probably need to go bigger and SUV-er. Consider the Sorento, a crossover SUV, or Sportage, a compact SUV.
Is the Kia Forte5 a Reliable Car?
Absolutely. Though it’s too early to get a reliability score on the 2018 model, it is basically unchanged from the 2017 model that received top billing by J.D. Power and Associates. They declared it the most reliable compact car ahead of other stalwart compacts, like the Chevy Cruze, Toyota Corolla, and Volkswagen Jetta.
